微血管减压术治疗老年原发性三叉神经痛100例临床分析
Microvascular decompression for elderly patients with trigeminal neuralgia

Abstract
Objective To assess the efficacy and safety of microvascular decompression (MVD) for elderly patients with trigeminal neuralgia. Methods One hundred patients over 65 with trigeminal neuralgia (elderly group) and 60 patients aged<65y (control group) received microvascular decompression for trigeminal neuralgia, the clinical data and treatment results were reviewed and compared between two groups. Results In elderly group, 90 cases (90.0%) had pain eliminated, 8 cases (8.0%) had pain relieved, 2 cases (2.0%) had no effect and then received percutaneous bal oon compression;while in control patients, 57 cases(95.0%) had pain eliminated and 3 cases(5.0%) had pain relieved. There was no statistical difference in curative effect between the two groups(P>0.05). However, younger patients had more serere postoperation low intracranial pressure symptom than elderly patients. Conclusion Microvascular decompression can safely provide cure or al eviation of pain for elderly patients with trigeminal neuralgia.关键词
