Abstract

The optimization design of a multi-blade centrifugal fan for two working conditions is carried out with CFD simulation method. The unsteady flow field of the centrifugal fan is calculated with the non-uniform sliding mesh and RNG k-εmodel. Three centrifugal fans are simulation analyzed and optimization designed according to their air volume, pressure and efficiency. The results show that, the fans better match the design requirement to the air volume and pressure at two working conditions with high efficiency. The efficiency is 56.55%at air volume of 2,100 m3/h and the efficiency is 57.76% at the air volume of 4,000 m3/h. The proposed simulation method provides an effective tool for centrifugal fan design and optimization.
