Abstract
Frosting characteristics on evaporator coil were experimentally studied in various frosting cases. The effects of three controlling factors, air relative humidity, coil surface temperature and driven temperature, on the frosting characteristics were investigated. The dynamic variations of the air pressure drop over the coil and cooling capacity during the frosting were obtained. The frost distributions at the air inlet and outlet and the coil were presented. The experimental results show that the three controlling factors have distinct effects on the frosting characteristics. The lower relative humidity, higher coil surface temperature and lower driven temperature inhibit the frost growth. The study provides experiences for future frosting characteristics research.关键词
