Abstract

Slag pot carrier is a multi-body system composed of frame, working boom, axles, slag pot etc., of which the cab is subjected to the impulse load with frequent direction change during the working process. The flexibility of the frame can enlarge the cab’s vibration amplitude, which will reduce the driver’s security and comfort. In this paper, the vibration characteristic of the cab is studied. First of all, a three-dimensional model of the slag pot carrier is established. Then, modal analysis is done with finite element simulation and theoretical analysis. The first five modals of the cab are obtained. Finally an in-situ hammering test and a dynamic impact test are done on the slag pot carrier. The natural frequencies are obtained by analyzing the acceleration signals. The correctness of the simulation method is verified. This study provides a reference for vibration control of the cab and design of the slag pot carrier.
