Abstract
Objective:To investigate parental cognition and acceptbihty on nitrous oxide/oxygen inhalation sedation (IHS)applied in dental anxiety children and raise some possible affected factors to better serve the clinical work.Method:During June 2013 to June 2014,500 parents who took their children to the department of pediatric dentistry,Stomatological Hospital of Urumqi,were investigated.One clinical worker was assigned to explain the HIS technique and parent then filled the questionnaire.SPSS 17.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Cognition and acceptance level of parents was expressed by the way of relative number while χ² test was used to make it clear which factor would further affect parents’acceptance. Result:500 children of parents in the survey,said heard and some of its parents only 6 (1.2%). when the children’s Department of Stomatology doctors recommend children treated in IHS,only 43 (8.6%) of parents choose to accept. Nearly 2.0%of parents think that nitrous oxide can have a bad effect on children. Through statistical analysis,parental acceptance of IHS and the degree of culture,geographical factors,family income,treatment cost(P<0.05). Conclusion:IHS is a dental behavior treatment in dental anxiety children more effective induction techniques,parents of children with less cognition of the generally low acceptabihty.Doctors should do a good job in explaining and obtain informed consent of parents in the choice of the method.关键词
