Abstract
Three methods of soft starting, namely water resistance soft starter, solid-state soft starter and variable frequency device( VFD) soft starter were introduced. The advantages and disadvantages of the above three kinds of soft starting scheme for large capacity MV motor were analyzed, and especially the application of variable frequency soft starter for low power capacity system that starter's capacity is smaller than MV motor rating, in which VFD is not required in productive process.关键词
