Abstract
On January 1,1886,Burma became a British colony. Since then,the Burmese nationalist movement rose and developed,and the modern intellectuals played a key role in Burma. Intellectuals,as an elite group of society,spread the social cultural value and make ideological innovation. The public image of intellectuals in Bur-ma’s modernization has its own characteristics. During the period of 1886-1941,they use public space,such as associations and publications,to express their own thoughts. Their way to national liberation was beset with diffi-culties,and they had to constantly explore new directions,resulting in different political opinions among them.关键词
