Serum Homocysteine Level Measurement in Patients with Acute Cerebral Infarction and Efficacy Study After Treatment of Enalapril Maleate and Folic Acid Tablets

Abstract
Objective To observe serum homocysteine(HCY)levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction and effects of enalapril maleate and folic acid tablets therapy on serum HCY levels in cerebral infarction patients with hyperhomocysteinemia. Meth-ods One hundred and sixty patients with acute cerebral infarction were chosen as patient group and during the same period 160 healthy check - up persons were chosen as control group. Serum homocysteine(HCY)levels in two groups were measured. Cerebral infarction patients with high homocysteine level were randomly divided into two treatment groups. Observation group received enalapril maleate and folic acid tablets therapy and control group received enalapril maleate tablets therapy. HCY levels were measured four weeks after treatment. Results Serum HCY levels in cerebral infarction group was(23. 98 ± 6. 96)μmol/ L and that in normal con-trol group was(12. 76 + 3. 57)μmol/ L. HCY levels in cerebral infarction group was significantly higher than that in normal control group(P ﹤ 0. 05). Ninety - six cerebral infarction patients with hyperhomocysteinemia were randomly divided into two treatment groups. After treatment,serum HCY levels in treatment group received enalapril maleate and folic acid tablets therapy significantly de-creased compared with that before treatment(P ﹤ 0. 05);there was no statistically significant difference between serum HCY levels before treatment and serum HCY levels after treatment in treatment group receiving enalapril maleate tablets therapy(P ﹥ 0. 05). Con-clusion HCY is an important risk factor for onset of cerebral infarction. Enalapril maleate and folic acid tablets therapy can decrease serum HCY levels and has important significance in prevention and treatment of cerebral infarction.关键词
