Abstract
With respect to the soil of limited range in gravel formation between the foundation pit of the metro station and nearby buildings, a calculation model of earth pressure for limited soil is established based on the formation mechanism of earth pressure for limited soil to accurately reflect the soil stress state. Then the corrected calculation model of critical width and the corresponding critical proportion of width to depth for limited soil are put forward in consideration of the influence of soil cohesion. The critical proportion of width to depth for limited soil is between 0. 55 and 0. 65 with little influence by the depth of foundation pit. The linear relationship between critical width for limited soil and the excavation depth is obtained, showing that the greater of excavation depth, the more differences of earth pressure between limited soil and the classical theory. The earth pressure for limited soil must be calculated and adopted for the ultra-depth foundation with excavation depth more than 10m. The theory of earth pressure for limited soil can effectively reduce the stress of retaining structure and corresponding reinforcement, and detailed design is beneficial for the control of project cost.关键词
