Abstract
Objective To measure and evaluate the equity of the allocation of general practitioners in mainland China , and provide references for regional health service planning , scientific and reasonable allocation of general practitioners .Methods General practitioners serving in all hospitals , community health service centers (stations) and rural health centers in mainland China in 2012 were selected as subjects .The data included were obtained from China Statistical Yearbook 2013 and China Health and Family Planning Statistical Yearbook 2013.Based on descriptive analysis , we evaluated the equity of the allocation of general practitioners in mainland China using Lorenz curve and Gini coefficient .Results The Lorenz curve for population distribution of general practitioners in mainland China was close to the line of absolute equality , while the Lorenz curve for service area distribution deviated away from it .The Gini coefficients were 0.31 and 0.74 for population distribution and area distribution respectively.Gonclusion The equity of general practitioners′population distribution in mainland China is superior to the geographical distribution .The equity of demographic distribution is in normal condition , while geographical distribution is in a highly dangerous condition .The government should strengthen macro -regulation and improve the equity and efficiency of general practitioners′allocation.关键词
