摘要

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of supplemented of sugar beet pulp on water me-tabolism of Yanqi horse. Twelve Yanqi horses were randomly divided into three groups according to perform-ance, body weight [(349.33±20.47) kg], body measurement and age. The groups were referred as one con-trol group and two experimental groups, and each group with 4 horses. Horses in the control group, experi-mental groupⅠand experimental groupⅡwere supplied with 0, 0.6, 1.2 kg/d of sugar beet pulp on the con-dition of feeding the same basal diet and roughage ( oat straw) . The pre-test period lasted for 15 days and the trial lasted for 5 days. The results showed as follows:1) compared with the control group, the water intake of the experimental groupsⅠ andⅡ were increased by 8.74% ( P>0.05) and 20.80% ( P<0.05) , respectively. However, there were no significant changes in the feces water content and urine excretion of the horses among all groups ( P>0.05) . Compared with the control group and the experimental group Ⅰ, the retention of water of the experimental group Ⅱ was increased by 27.23%(P<0.05)and 33.83%(P<0.05), respectively. 2) Compared with the control group, the antidiuretic hormone level in plasma of experimental groups Ⅰ and Ⅱwas increased by 14.65% ( P>0.05) and 45.93% ( P<0.05) , and also the adrenocorticotropic hormone level was increased by 22.02% ( P<0.01) and 24.06% ( P<0.01) , respectively. 3) There were no significant chan-ges in the levels of aldosterone, cortisol, angiotensin Ⅱ, atrial natriuretic peptide in plasma, and the concen-trations of K+, Na+and Cl-in blood supplemented with sugar beet pulp ( P>0.05) . Therefore, the retention of body water, the levels of antidiuretic hormone and adrenocorticotropic hormone level in plasma of Yanqi horse are significantly increased by supplementary feeding 1.2 kg/d of sugar beet pulp, which plays a positive role in the water metabolism of the body.
