Progress on post-translational histone acetylation in bone metabolism
摘要
Abstract
Epigenetics is the study of mechanisms able to inlfuence gene expression in heritable manner without altering the DNA sequence. hTese mechanisms include miRNA-mediated post-transcriptional regulation, post-translational histone modiifcations and DNA methylation. Among all the histone modiifcation, histone acetylation is reserched most widely. And it has been confirmed to influence many physiological and pathological progresses. In bone metabolism, histone acetylation inlfuences osteoblastogenesis and osteoclastogenesis. hTus, it plays an important role in bone homeostasis. This review introduces the roles of histone acetylation, HDACs and HATs in bone metabolism, and we hope it will provide a new direction for the research of bone-metabolism related diseases.关键词
