Implementation and Effect of Thermal Storage in Improving Wind Power Accommodation

Abstract
ABSTRACT:Thermal storage can be applied in combined electricity-heat system to enhance the flexibility of power system and improve wind power accommodation further. According to the coupling of power system and thermal system, thermal storage can be applied at combined heat and power unit and electric heating system. By controlling the thermal storage, the rigid coupling relationship between electricity and heat, namely, electricity being determined by heat, is broken, and the adjustment capacity of the system is enhanced. The dispatching models of combined heat and power unit and electric heating system with thermal storages were constructed. The thermal storage was included into the active power dispatching system of power systems with wind power. The effect of thermal storage in improving wind power accommodation was simulated with the actual data of a provincial power grid of China, and the different operation modes of thermal storages at different places were compared.关键词
