Evaluation of effect of comfort nursing intervention on elder patients with acute asthma

Abstract
Objective To explore application effect of comfort care intervention on elder patients with acute asthma. Methods 60 elder patients with acute asthma were selected as research objects and they were randomly allocated to the intervention group and the control group with 30 in each. The intervention group was received comfort nursing intervention based on routine nursing while the control group was only received routine nursing. Scores of Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS), treatment compliance, hospitalized time, degree of nursing satisfaction and relative conditions of two groups were compared.ResultsScores of SAS and SDS after intervention in two groups were both significantly decreased but the decline in the intervention group was more significant which is significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05 orP<0.01). Disappearance time of symptoms, disappearance time of signs, hospitalized time of the intervention group were shorter than that of the control group(P<0.01). Compliance rate of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group while the recurrence rate was lower than that of the control group(P<0.01).The acquaintances of related knowledge and nursing skills and nursing satisfaction in the control group were all significantly higher than those in the intervention group(P<0.01).ConclusionComfort nursing intervention for elder patients with acute asthma can improve treatment compliance, promote recovery from diseases and reduce recurrence.关键词
