Effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on preventing hospital infection in pediatric outpatient department and practice

Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on preventing hospital infection in pediatric outpatient department.Methods 400 children patients who were admitted to our hospital from January 2013 to December 2014 were randomly allocated to the control group and the experimental group with 200 in each. The control group was received traditional basic nursing while the experimental group was received comprehensive nursing. The infection situation and satisfaction degree of family members of the two groups were recorded and analyzed respectively.Results Total infection rate of hospital infection of children patients in the experimental group was 9.5% which was significantly lower than that in the control group 18.5%(P<0.05). Questionnaires of family members' nursing satisfaction of two groups were compared. Total satisfaction degree in the experimental group was 91% which was significantly higher than that in the control group 79%(P<0.05). ConclusionComprehensive nursing intervention for preventing hospital infection has a positive and beneficial effect in the pediatric outpatient department. It can significantly reduce hospital infection and pains of children patients and their family members, improve the family members' satisfaction with nursing staff, ease the relationship between nurses and patients and have positive effects on clinic which is worthy of promotion and application.关键词
