A Study of Germplasm Properties of LaiWu Pig:Fat Deposit Characteristics

摘要

Abstract

Laiwu pig is one of Chinese native pig breeds,which has excellent germplasm properties such as good meat quality, high prolificacy, good ability of fatty deposition and so on.This experiment chose 333 purebred castrated boars and sows,they were slaughtered at the age of 300 days.In order to obtain datum relat-ed to fat deposit traits,the back fat thickness in different parts,gut fat weight,abdominal fat weight,leaf fat weight were measured.These data were put into different items according to different genders and different slaughter seasons,SPSS was used to analyze the effects of genders and slaughter seasons on fat deposit charac-teristics.What’ s more,the characteristics of fat deposit of were compared Laiwu pig with those of Erhualian pig and DLY.The results showed that:(1)The differences in back fat thickness,gut fat weight,leaf fat weight of different parts of castrated boars and sows were very significant( p<0.01) ,although the difference in abdominal fat was not significant(p>0.05).(2)The differences between pigs slaughtered in winter and summer in back fat thickness,gut fat weight,leaf fat weight of different parts were very significant( p<0.01) ,however difference in abdominal fat weight was not significant( p>0.05) .In terms of fat deposit characteristics,differences among Lai-wu pig and other pig breeds were very significant(p<0.01).According to the results of the analysis,it was found that both genders and different slaughter seasons had very significant effects on fat deposit.So it’ s helpful for the choice of fattening pigs and fattening time.
