Abstract
A WSFE was introduced herein on the basis of traditional super-folding element (SFE), which was used to analyze the crushing failure,such as tearing of welds and unprogressive crushing of the flange for hat-sections beams.Strategies were proposed to avoid the failures above,and experi-ments were carried out to verify the effectiveness.The results of the experiments indicate that the crushing failure of welded hat-sections can be eliminated by increasing SFE on the sections,increasing the flange width,adjusting the angles adjacent to the flange,the energy absorption capability can be improved as well.关键词
