An Energy Efficient Distributed Uneven Clustering Routing Algorithm for WSNs

Abstract
To solve the "hot zone" problem appearing in distributed clustering routing multi-hop communication, this paper proposes an energy balanced forwarding algorithm (EBFA) based on distributed clustering routing proto⁃cols. EBFA adopts the uneven clustering techniques and multi-hop inter-cluster strategy. During the multi-hop for⁃warding,the social welfare function is introduced to pre-assess the extent of energy balance between nodes in the da⁃ta forwarding path,and the node with a better energy balance is chosen as the forwarding node. Simulation results show that:Compared to LEACH and EEUC,EBFA prolongs the lifetime of the network and balances the energy con⁃sumption among sensor nodes,which solves the hot zone problem in the multi-hop routing.关键词
