Direct Power Control Strategy of Railway Static Power Conditioner Based on Modular Multilevel Converter

Abstract
To solve problem of negative sequence components and to compensate reactive power and eliminate harmonics, back-to-back connection structure of railway static power conditioner (RPC) connected to traction network directly with two single-phase modular multilevel converters (MMC) is designed. Compared with traditional RPC, MMC-RPC eliminates step-down transformer to increase DC voltage and reduce DC current. A direct power control strategy (DPC) without angular frequency and inductance parameters using mathematical model of single-phase system voltage and power is proposed according to analysis of railway power supply. Taking V/v traction as example, a simulation model is constructed in MATLAB/Simulink. The results show that the proposed strategy is effective.关键词
