摘要

Abstract

Determination of steady-state current-carrying capacity of HVDC cable terminals is closely related to its steady temperature field distribution. In order to calculate current-carrying capacity accurately, based on iterative algorithm and ANSYS simulation software, a calculation method of current-carrying capacity of HVDC cable terminals is proposed taking maximum temperature of cable core and maximum temperature gradients of XLPE and rubber insulation as criteria of current limit. Relationships between carried current and maximum allowable temperature of core and maximum temperature gradient of XLPE insulation are comparatively studied via applying and not applying iterative algorithm. Experimental results show that iterative algorithm is more accurate to calculate current-carrying capacity. This paper provides a valuable reference for calculation of current-carrying capacity for HVDC cable terminals.
