Abstract
Objective To investigate the socioeconomic and psychological factors of pregnant women in selecting delivery mode.Methods A cross sectional survey was conducted from April to September in 2014 with anonymous questionnaires among subjects meeting the requirement, including their preferred delivery mode and the reasons for that.Data analysis was then conducted.Results Multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that pregnant women who were older (OR=0.01,P<0.01), whose husbands were higher educated (OR=0.39,P <0.05 ) and whose husbands had high income ( OR =3.42, P <0.05 ) were more likely to choose cesarean section.The psychological factors of selecting natural delivery were delivery being natural (94.0%), shorter hospital stay (90.9%), safer for baby (87.9%), more convenient for breastfeeding (84.9%) and safer for mother (84.9%).The main reasons for preferring cesarean section were better control of birth time (89.5%), recommendation of doctors for antenatal examination (84.2%), worrying about secend suffering at the case of vaginal delivery failure (79.0%), baby suffering less (68.5%), and fear of pain (61.1%).Conclusion Factors associated with high preference for cesarean delivery are older age, husband' s higher income and higher education.Psychological factors are also the important reasons affecting preference of women for delivery.关键词
