Abstract
The construction of a barrier free environment in the design of urban furniture is a major indicator of so-cial progress and civilization of a country.Based on researches on the theory of human engineering, we conduct an analysis of the current situation of barrier-free design of urban furniture in central Nanyang from three aspects, namely, urban street environment, life service environment and landscape decoration environment.In light of the deficiencies with the barrier-free design of urban furniture in central Nanyang, it is proposed that efforts be made to 1) strengthen the concept of systematic and comprehensive design and improve the barrier free facilities and envi-ronment;2) standardize the management level of the barrier free environment;3) strengthen the cultivation of pro-fessional designers, and improve the level of barrier free design;and 4) increase publicity of the barrier free envi-ronment, and enhance the awareness of the general public.关键词
