Clinical observation of effect of apical barrier with mineral trioxide aggregate under the dental operating micro-scope

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of apical barrier with mineral trioxide aggregate ( MTA) under the dental operating microscope and provide instructions to the future clinical treatment. Methods 32 teeth in which MTA was used to manage clinical problems were collected. Each case had a pulpless permanent tooth with blunderbuss open apex. MTA was used to rigorously close the root apex under operating microscope; The root canal was obturated with vertical condensation. Clinical Examination and X-ray radiological evaluation were performed in the postoperative following-up. Results After 3 months to 5 years follow-up, there was no complain of any uncomfortable feelings in all cases and radio-graphic examination indicated that the apical radiolucent areas decreased apparently or disappeared completely. Conclu-sion The method of using MTA to treat permanent teeth with open root apex under the dental operating microscope is ef-fective.关键词
