Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical effect of two therapeutic methods including budesonide as an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) by family atomization and montelukast sodium (MS) in oral administration on treating infant panting with positive asthma predictive index. Methods From June 2013 to June 2014,90 patients with asthma in our hospital were randomly divided into ICS group and MS group in random.The comprehensive treatment was provided during acute asthmatic attack.In remission,family atomization in ICS group was applied.Budesonide suspension was inhaled by com-pressed atomizer every day and regimen of medication was adjusted every one to three month with dosage decreasing from 1 mg/d to 0.25 mg/d.In MS group,oral administration of MS was adopted and the dosage was 4 mg/d,once per day. The courses of treatment lasted for 6 months.The clinical effect and occurrence of adverse incidences were observed. Results The clinical remission rate in ICS group was higher than that in MS group,with a statistical difference(P<0.05). In the ICS group,the recurrence rate was lower in comparison with that in MS group,with a statistical difference (P<0.05).There was no obvious adverse reaction occurred during medication. Conclusion Application of family atomization to treat infant panting with positive asthma predictive index is superior to that by MS.It has a good safety,and is worthy of promotion.
