Discussions on Bearing Capacity of Railway Embankment Foundation
摘要
Abstract
The requirement for bearing capacity of foundation is not accordant in different current codes and designers may have different understanding of the codes, which may result in conservative design. This paper focuses on the bearing capacity of foundation under embankment load. The allowable bearing capacity and the characteristic bearing capacity are limits for elastic deformation irrespective of rigid foundation or flexible base foundation. It’s appropriate to allow the foundation to be plastic partly for ballasted track, and the requirement for bearing capacity of foundation can be eased aptly. According to the existing information, the partial factor of bearing capacity is proposed, which could provide reference for limit design of railway foundation treatment.关键词
