Abstract
Objective:To observe the efficacy of 5-aminolevulinic acid-mediated photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT)in the treatment of moderate to severe acne.Methods:One hundred patients with moderate to severe acne were randomly divided into 2 groups for the controlled study.The ALA-PDT group received 4 courses of ALA-PDT.The isotretinoin group was treated with oral administration of 10 mg Isotretinoin Capsules twice daily and external application of Adapalene Gel.The observation would be stopped when the efficacy index was higher than 90% or treatment continued for 8 weeks.Results:The effective rates 4,8 and 12 weeks later were 48%,74%,86% respectively in the ALA-PDT group,and 36%,78%,88% respectively in the isotretinoin group.There was no significant difference regarding the effective rate between the ALA-PDT group and the isotretinoin group by the end of the 12th week.However,the adverse reaction rate in the isotretinoin group was as high as 72%.Conclusions:In the treatment of moderate to severe acne,ALA-PDT shows fast onset and little adverse reaction.关键词
