Effect of chitosan on growth performance of ducks and immune function

摘要

Abstract

The 240 one-day-old Cherry Valley ducks were randomly divided into four groups, each group with three repitions of 20 ducks each, male and female were half and half. In the control group(Ⅰ)they were fed the basal diet. In the test group(Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ)they were added 0.03%, 0.05%, 0.1% chitosan on the basis diet, the trial period last seven weeks. The test results showed that: added 0.03% to 0.1% chitosan to duck's diets could effectively improve the growth performance, significantly improve the average of daily gain and feed conversion ratio of ducks, the best dosage is 0.05% chitosan in diet. HI antibody levels increased with amount of chitosan, which amount to 0.1 percent is the best.
