Abstract
Urban design has become an important means to attract talents, enhance the city competitiveness and realize sustainable development. After the reform and opening up, Shanghai has taken the lead in the introduction of city design, providing support for the city development and construction activities. At the same time, positive exploration in city design management has been carried out. In China, the new urbanization is vigorously promoted currently, and it is an important stage for Shanghai to construct the“Four Centre”and to develop a modern metropolis, so that it is necessary to further enhance the understanding of urban design. Combined with urban design challenges that Shanghai is facing, the quality orientation should be focused, the urban design should be strengthened in the space planning system, the traditional culture should be inherited, the city image should be constructed and the urban life should be changed by design, which will make Shanghai to the city of design and charm.关键词
