Study on Urban Renewal and Urban Design of Central Activity Zone
摘要
Abstract
The paper discusses the urban design issues in the light of dramatic social transformation and acupunctural urban renewal, which is the new development stage in Shanghai. Urban renewal in the inner-city, especially directly surrounding the traditional old town, stands under pressure of functional upgrading, social re-structuring and water-front requirements. An objective methodology of place-making seems to be a necessity of solving the systematic problem. The paper tries the descriptive analysis of costumer behavior to guide/aid the urban design process, in order to consider all the alternatives of all the place users in more rational and logical way.关键词
