Abstract
In recent years,territorial disputes in the South China Sea have evoked Vietnamese nationalism across a wide range of social groups.Political elites intensified nationalist rhetoric and official propaganda by highlighting the common grounds of national and state interests.Intellectuals tried to promote nationalist ideas through publications and non -governmental organizations.And grassroots groups,especially young students and netizens,participated in nationalist demonstrations and established illegal groups to protest against China. Vietnamese nationalism has not only restrained Vietnamese foreign policy,but is also bringing negative influ-ences to Sino-Vietnamese relations.It will eventually hinder the healthy development of the Sino-Vietnamese relationship unless the Vietnamese government takes effective measures to control it.关键词
