Abstract
During a geological survey in the contact between the late Yanshanian syenite-granitoid intrusion and the base-ment outside the southern fringe of the Lu-Zong volcanic basin,an iron-rich horizon and bedded magnetite ore body was found in the ZK402 core intersection of 9.65m in thickness in the mid-Triassic Dongmaanshan Formation of car-bonatite. Ore is dominantly massive magnetite with filling and replacement relic texture,and the ore-rich horizon and wall rock are associated with limonitization (hematization),silication,carbonatation and chloritization,indicating that mineralization is a combined result of strata bounding and hydrothermal superimposition,and then attesting to the uni-versality of the Dongmaasnhan Formation of iron-rich horizon in forming iron ore deposits in the area along the Yang-tze River and in the fringe of the Lu-Zong volcanic basin.关键词
