Abstract
The Baltic region had created a chance for Nordic businessmen to trade because of its geographical location and natural conditions, before the German Hanseatic League formed a monopoly in the North Sea-Baltic trade in the 13th century.The Scandinavians and Frisians had opened up some trade routes to eastward and westward:the Swedes went to the Rus region and cre-ated the famous Varangian trade route, establishing the trade relationship with Byzantium and the Muslim world; Danes and Fri-sians established the trade contact with England and Netherland .After Large-scale Entrepot trade had been finished in North Eu-rope, German merchants replaced the Scandinavians and Frisians and established a frequent and stable link between the land and the sea.A stable North Sea-Baltic Trade Network was initially established .After the formation of the Hanseatic League , the trade network became one of the central areas of the European trade.关键词
