Abstract
The Marxist critic Raymond Williams calls people's general feelings of the real life in a particular era as the struc-ture of feelings. This kind of feelings includes people's shared values and social psychology and can be clearly manifested in the literature works. Therefore, when analyzing the structure of feelings of American Dream in The Great Gatsby, the paper finds that although the writer Fitzgerald realizes the corruption and degeneration of his society, he still sticks up for the bour-geoisie's values. Nevertheless, in effect the American Dream was not the same as before. Observing the contemporary China, the author analyzes the structure of feelings of the buzz words "Chinese Dream" from the dimensions of rationality and reality. What's more, after contrasting Chinese Dream with American Dream, the author finds that in a materialistic society, only if one has a clear idea of his culture ascription and combine it with the national ideal, the two levels of Chinese Dream can be com-patible.关键词
