Abstract

This paper makes a study of the pile-soil interaction model in radially heterogeneous soil, assuming the pile is vertical, elastic, uniform, and of circular cross-section. Moreover, it rests on elastic support and is subjected to vertical harmonic load. In addition, the soil around the pile is divided into three zones along the ra⁃dial orientation, which are considered as linear viscoelastic media with hysteretic type damping and rest on elas⁃tic support as well. First, the paper gives the dynamic equilibrium equations of three zones soil and solves the equations one by one. Then, the paper considers the interaction condition, constructs the equilibrium equation of pile, solves it, and gets some analytical or semi-analytical dynamic responses on the pile top in frequency do⁃main and time domain. Finally, from contrasting to the previous results, the paper proves that the present solu⁃tion is correct.
