Li Zhao-luo’s Theories of Prose and His Criticism Methods:Based on the Commentaries on The Selections of Parallel Pros

Abstract
The Selections of Parallel Prose is a famous prose anthology, whose compiler Li Zhaoluo made specific commentaries on concrete articles, leaving a large number of reviews. Based on Li Zhaoluo’s opposition to respect⁃ing only ancient Chinese prose and advocate of the compiling principle of combination between parallel prose and other literary writings, this paper considers that Li Zhaoluo’s remarks reflected his idea on emphasizing stylistic features and specifications, established the aesthetic ideal of primitive simplicity and classic elegance of the stylis⁃tics of parallel prose and marked the magnificent aesthetic standard for plump prose language. Besides, on the ba⁃sis of the overall grasp of these commentaries, the author of the paper thinks that the application of the criticism methods deepened Li Zhaoluo’s theories of prose by summarizing and analyzing Li Zhao-luo’s methods of literal crit⁃icism including his common tracing origin, comparison, and understanding human beings and reflecting on society.关键词
