Three Marxes and Communism:On the Interpretation of Marxism in Badiou's Philosophy and the Idea of Communism

Abstract
In the New book Philosophy and the Idea of Communism by Alain Badiou and Peter Engelmann, Badiou clearly analyzes the thought of Marx systematically. In Badiou's view, Marx is not a single figure, but plural ones, and the totality of Marx is collaged by several Marxs. Badiou argues that there are at least three Marxes. The first is the Marx on whom Hegel's Philosophy of History exerted an influence. The second is the continued analysis of political economy, which was developed by Adam Smith and David Ricardo. The third Marx, always neglected by the academic circles, is a politically subjective one from the perspective of the erratic idea of communism, and this is a real Marx we need today.关键词
