Abstract

Considering the water pipe cooling effect in the mass concrete bearing platform of a continuous rigid frame bridge,a sophisticated calculation model of heat transfer coefficient was adopted.Numerical analysis of the temperature field caused by hydration heat was simulated by finite element program and the calculation results show a good agreement with the in -site measurements.Then the variation law of inner temperature gradient along the height direction and longitudinal direction was analyzed,and the temperature field with water pipe cooling effect considered or not was compared.It is found that the surface of the bearing platform is the dangerous zone for temperature cracking.Hence the curing work of thermal insulation should be performed during the construc-tion to control the temperature difference between interior and exterior within 25℃.The cooling effect of water pipe is remarkable and it is an effective measure for temperature control and crack prevention in the construction of mass concrete bearing platform.There is no thermal cracking after the removal of the formworks,which demon-strates that the effect of temperature control is satisfactory.
