Abstract
Connecting distributed generation (DG) to distribution network makes the radial structure of distribution network changed and as a result traditional non-directional current protection is affected. Since potential transformers (PT) are not installed to the feeders of distribution network in general, the voltage message cannot be obtained. A new fault location scheme that does not resort to voltage message is proposed, in which the faulty position can be accurately located by means of analyzing action message of time-limited instantaneous current protection configured to the upstream zone of DG and that of definite time over-current protection configured to the downstream zone of DG. Meanwhile, several special circumstances, such as multi-DG are connected with distribution network via different connection points and the sensitivities of protections cannot meet the requirements, are discussed and corresponding solutions are given. For the proposed fault location method it is not needed to install lots of extra PT and circuit breakers to distribution lines, and protective relayings are not affected by output variation of DG, thus original settings of protection relays can be retained and the proposed scheme is practicable. The correctness of the proposed protection scheme is verified by simulation results of a certain 10kV distribution network.关键词
