Abstract
World Organization for Animal Health (OIE)first proposed the concept of Zoning and Compart-mentalisation in the field of animal health.Zoning and Compartmentalisation are important measures of in-ternational recognition for animal health management.In Terrestrial Animal Health Code,the theories and rules of Zoning and Compartmentalisation for Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD)were developed,two con-struction modes including zone and compartmentalisation,related concepts of free zone,protection zone, containment zone were proposed,animal health standards for FMD free zone where vaccination is practiced or not practised and FMD free compartment were clearly established.Strictly according to the principles of the OIE,the works on Zoning and Compartmentalisation for FMD are of important significance for confor-ming to the requirements of international FMD control strategy and promoting Chinese national medium and long-term plans of animal disease prevention and control.关键词
