摘要

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Piper sarmentosum extracts ( PSE ) on the growth performance and blood indexes of weaned piglets. Eighty 21-day-old weaned piglets were selected and randomly allocated into four groups with five replicates per group and 4 piglets per replicate. Piglets were fed a basal diet supplemented with PSE at 0, 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg for 28 days. The results showed as follows:compared with control group, average daily gain ( ADG) and average daily feed intake ( ADFI) from day 1 to day 28 and day 15 to day 28 of piglets fed the diet supplemented with PSE at 50 mg/kg were significantly in-creased ( P<0.05) . PSE could increase the number of platelets ( PLT) in the blood and significantly increase the serum contents of total protein (TP), globulin (GLB), immunoglobulin (Ig)G, IgA, IgM (P<0.05). Meanwhile, dietary PSE supplementation reduced the serum activity of alanine aminotransferase ( ALT ) and aspartate transaminase ( AST) , and contents of cholesterin ( CHOL) and urea nitrogen ( UN) of piglets. The conclusion shows that dietary PSE supplementation with 50 mg/kg can improve the ADFI of weaned piglets, while dietary PSE supplementation can improve immune function, liver function, and promote protein synthesis and metabolism of weaned piglets.
