Recent Advances in Effects of Epidermal Growth Factor on Growth Performance and Intestinal Health of Early-Weaned Piglets
摘要
Abstract
Early-weaned is one of the key technologies in intensive breeding. The application of early-weaned technology can increase the potential of sow reproduction and decline the pathogens transmission from sow to the piglets, so as to improve the economic benefits of pig industry. However, early-weaned might affect the growth performance and intestinal health of piglets, due to experiencing weaned stress caused by the change of environment and diets. Epidermal growth factor ( EGF) has trophic effects in the growth performance and the gastrointestinal tract including enhanced proliferation and differentiation. Also, it can improve the activity of gastrointestinal digestive enzymes, enhance immune function and reduce the rate of diarrhea. This review main-ly introduced the effects of EGF on the growth performance and intestinal health of early-weaned piglets, and provided a better understanding of the utilization of EGF on early-weaned piglets feed.关键词
