摘要

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of sodium sulfate supplementation in laying hens diet by determining performance, antioxidant capacity, intestinal morphology and cecal microflora popula-tion. Four hundred and fifty 20-week-old Hyline White laying hens with similar body weight and laying rate were randomly allocated to 5 groups with 6 replicates per group and 15 hens per replicate. Hens in the control group was fed a basal diet, and hens in experimental groups were fed the basal diets supplemented with 0.3%, 0.6%, 1.5%, 3.0% sodium sulfate, respectively. The trial lasted for 8 weeks. The results showed as follows:1) diets supplemented with sodium sulfate tended to improve the laying performance of laying hens with no sig-nificant effect (P>0.05), and the effect of low dose groups (0.3% and 0.6%) was better. 2) Compared with control group, diets supplemented with sodium sulfate had no significant influences on antioxidant parameters ( P>0.05) . Compared with 0.6% group, the activities of glutathione peroxidase ( GSH-Px) in plasma and total superoxide dismutase ( T-SOD) in liver of high dose ( 1. 5% and 3. 0%) groups were significantly decreased ( P<0.05 or P<0.01) , group added by 3.0% had significantly reduced the total antioxidant capacity ( T-AOC) in plasma and the activity of GSH-Px in liver ( P<0.05) . 3) Compared with control group, the villus height in duodenum and ileum of 0.6% group had significantly raised by 30.51% and 42.63% (P<0.01); the crypt depth in duodenum was significantly reduced ( P<0.05) and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth ( V/C) in duodenum was significantly raised ( P<0.05) . Compared with 0.6% group, the villus height in duodenum and ileum and V/C in duodenum of high dose (1.5% and 3.0%) groups were significantly decreased (P<0.01), and the crypt depth in duodenum and ileum of 3.0% group was significantly increased (P<0.01). 4) Com-pared with control group, 0.3% and 0.6% groups had remarkably reduced the number of Escherichia coli in cecum ( P<0.01) , and the group supplemented with 0. 6% was the best; compared with 0. 6% group, high dose (1.5% and 3.0%) groups had significantly increased the number of Enterobacteria and Escherichia coli in cecum ( P<0.05 or P<0.01) . It is concluded that dietary sodium sulfate supplemental level at 0.3% to 0.6%tend to improve the antioxidant capacity and intestinal morphology, and regulate the cecal microflora population in laying hens. The optimum supplemental level of sodium sulfate is 0.6% in laying hens diet.
