Research progress on extracellular DNA release by Streptococcus gordonii
摘要
Abstract
Bacterial extracellular DNA(eDNA) is an important component of extracellular biofilm matrix. It can stable cell-cell adhesion and biofilm structure, and can transfer the genetic information. DNA release is typically a consequence of cell lysis. Streptococcus gordonii can release eDNA through a special hydrogen peroxide-dependent mechanism. This review will summarize the recent research progress on characteristics of eDNA release by Strepto-coccus gordonii and its release effect.关键词
