Abstract
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of serum glypican-3 ( GPC-3 ) detection for liver cancer in Chinese patients using system evaluation method. Methods The studies on liver cancer patients diagnosed with GPC-3 detection method were searched from PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, Wanfang and CNKI databases (database establishment-February 2015), and the quality of relevant articles was evaluated using QUADAS rating scale. The sensitivity ( SEN) , specificity ( SPE) , positive likelihood ratio ( PLR) , negative likelihood ratio ( NLR) and diag-nosis odds ratio ( DOR) of liver cancer patients diagnosed with serum GPC-3 detection method were respectively com-bined using meta-disc 1. 4 software, and the area under curve (AUC) of SROC was calculated. The publication bias was evaluated using funnel plot and Egger's test. Results A total of 8 studies including 1679 subjects were recruited in this study. The studies had significant heterogeneity with evaluation of random effect model ( P <0. 001 ) . The combined SEN, SPE, PLR, NLR and DOR were 0. 52 [95% confidence interval (CI) :0. 49, 0. 55], 0. 84 (95% CI:0. 80, 0. 87), 4. 41 (95% CI :1. 85, 10. 49), 0. 57 (95% CI:0. 44, 0. 74) and 8. 95 (95% CI:2. 81, 28. 52) respec-tively. The AUC was 0. 6876. The funnel plot and Egger's test showed no evidence of publication bias (P=0. 526). Conclusion Although the diagnostic accuracy of serum GPC-3 for early liver cancer is still unsatisfactory, the serum GPC-3 has significantly specificity, and the diagnostic accuracy can be improved through combining with other diagnostic indexes.关键词
