Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the preventive and therapeutic effects of complex Du-mu Jian-gu Granules on osteo-porosis rats induced by retinoic acid.Methods: 60 male wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group, model control group, positive control group(Xianlinggubao capsule, 1 g·kg-1·d-1), and complex Du-mu Jian-gu Granules high, medium and low-dose groups (32, 16 and 8 g·kg-1·d-1). Osteoporosis rats have been induced with retinoic acid (80 mg·kg-1, daily) by intragastric administration for 14 days. The rats in complex Du-mu Jian-gu Granules high, medium and low-dose groups were given complex Du-mu Jian-gu Granules by intragastric administration for 30 days, and then ras well killed. The calcium serum, serum phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase were tested; the bone mineral density and fractura rate were determined in the right thighbone. Results: Compared with the model control group, the bone density, calcium serum and serum phosphorus increased in complex Du-mu Jian-gu Granules high and medium dose groups, with significant difference (P<0.05); The frac-tura rate in complex Du-mu Jian-gu Granules high dose group was lower than that of the model control group and there was significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: Complex Du-mu Jian-gu Granules can provide prevention and treatment for os-teoporosis rats by retinoic acid and improve the bone biomechanical strength index.关键词
