Effect of Meso-defect Holes on the Shock-to-ignition Characteristics of PBX Explosives

Abstract
Based on Monte-Carlo method,the meso-structural models of plastic bonded explosives (PBX)consider-ing the grain size,shape and location in random distribution were established by a non-linear finite element method. The effects of holes defect and its size on the shock-to-ignition characteristics of PBX were analyzed and compared by calculation.Results show that the holes defect reduces the critical ignition pressure of explosive,and increases its shock sensitivity.With the increase of the size of holes defect,the critical ignition pressure of explosive gradually decreases,but when the size of holes defect over a certain range,larger holes defect will not continue to improve the shock sensitivity of explosive.关键词
