Mechanical Properties and Failure Modes of PBX Explosives with Different Prefabricated Defects
摘要
Abstract
To explore the effects of crack defects on the mechanical properties and failure modes of explosives,using HMX based PBX pressed explosive as the object,the failure process of the explosive under the conditions of different prefabricated defects was studied by an improved arc Brazilian test,and the obtained test results were compared with those of explosives without defects.Results show that within the scope of the study,the mechanical strength of HMX based PBX pressed explosive is significantly changed by the spatial position of defects,and the highest decreasing range reaches up to 75.3%.The failure modes are obviously different under different defects and the phenomenon of second bearing exists when the defect exist angle with loading direction and the crack extends from the end of defect to the loading surface.关键词
