摘要

Abstract

Microgrids have been researched widely to integrate large numbers of distributed renewable energy sources. The proper protection is one of the key issues of microgrid safety, because traditional protection schemes can not be applied to the microgrid due to the specific characteristic of microgrid. A new protection scheme using intelligent relays with control network is proposed for the microgrid protection. An additional loop structure is explored to increase reliability. In all fault cases the primary and secondary relays are designed for their intended functions including the high impedance faults. The microgrid system modeling is established based on Matlab-SimPowerSystems, and the validity of the protection scheme is validated.
