摘要

Abstract

In order to locate the fault for transmission lines rapidly, accurately and reliably, a new fault locating method based on the theory of strong tracking filter (STF) is proposed. Taking the fault distance, resistance between head end and fault point, failure voltage at the fault point as the state variables, the system state and parameter joint estimation model is built. STF as well as failure voltage and failure current measured at the head end are used to estimate the fault distance accurately without solving equations. PSCAD/EMTDC simulation shows that this method is simple and able to accurately locate the fault in various fault modes and is free from the influence of random factors such as fault transition resistance and fault inception time.
