摘要

Abstract

Along with the rapid development of power industry, the protection plans for voltage levels of 110 kV and above have been fully developed. Plant medium voltage distribution switchgear cabinet is used as the power hinge for the voltage levels from 6 kV (10 kV) to 35 kV. Whether an internal fault would be rapidly removed is very important for the safe operation of the distribution system of the whole plant (substations). Currently, the arc protection is gradually used at the 35 kV and below distribution cabinet in Grid Corporation. Arc protection technology is also an outstanding technological progress in the field of relay protection. Using arc protection system, the time interval between arc fault and tripping can be less than 4 ms. It is much faster than the traditional relay protection equipment. The workers and equipment are not subject to the hazards of arc. Arc protection technology has been fully developed and successfully applied in the power field.
